Tutorial Making Tutorial Yes, indeed. This is a tutorial on making a tutorial. All tutorials do not have to be picture based, it can be words, like this one. They can also be words with picture, or just a big picture. It all depends on what you are making it for. Basics-Most importantly, be sure you know exactly what you are making the tutorial about. If you don't, you will more than likely go on tangents. -Be sure to know the outline of how to do what your trying to teach. You have to start somewhere. When to Use PicturesWe all want to have pretty tutorials, but when is this appropriate? Mostly, you use pictures when you are talking about a specific program. You need to be able to show the reader where everything is, and you can also color code things this way. This makes it much easier to explain things. When to Use WordsThis tutorial is a good example of when to use words. Writing a tutorial doesn't require any program other than your mind (and MS Wordpad =P). Therefore, pictures are not really necessary to get my point across. Make it PrettyNo one likes tutorials that make your eyes water...unless your crying because of the beauty. Do not use bright yellow for the text, or a dark green background with lime purple text. Be thoughtful of the eyes around you, and choose helpful colors. Good Luck With Your Tutorials!
